Andrew Hill Investment Advisors Inc. (AHIA), a Naples-based investment and wealth management advisory firm, and on January 10, 2020, celebrated its 10th year of serving clients.  Since the firm’s founding in 2010, the total amount of client assets under management has grown from $2 million to more than $100 million.

AHIA was founded by Andrew D.W. Hill, President, and Jennifer R. Figurelli, Managing Director. Hill and Figurelli have 50 years of combined investment, estate planning and fiduciary experience and spent many years together at other large institutions. The firm provides investment and financial management services to individuals, charitable entities, fiduciary clients, including those with special needs, and small employer pension plans.

The success of AHIA in growing its client base is due largely to our highly client focused business model that incorporates investment management services and financial concierge services, which includes many complimentary services keeping our clients prepared and organized in their financial affairs.  This is especially appealing to clients with portfolios in the range of $500,000 to $5 million who are very often overlooked at trust banks or over charged at brokerage firms.

Andrew Hill Investment Advisors opened in January 2010 in a temporary office which was previously occupied by Lutgert Commercial Real Estate. In the wake of the financial crisis and the Great Recession, attracting new clients was a challenge, although a handful of long-time clients followed Hill and Figurelli shortly after the firm was established.

One of the key decisions in creation of the firm was the use of Fidelity Institutional Wealth Services as third-party custodian. While growing the business, new clients found comfort in Fidelity holding their securities and informative reporting. Fidelity’s technology also provided a competitive advantage against many other firms in the area.    AHIA is a niche-focused investment advisory firm that strives to provide highly personalized investment management and financial concierge services to match the unique needs of each of its clients and the technology that Fidelity provides AHIA gives it a competitive advantage over many of its larger competitors.

Andrew Hill Investment Advisors moved to its current location in the Alexander Building in Park Shore in 2012, and in 2019, the firm achieved two important objectives. First, the firm’s total assets under management surpassed $100 million for the first time. Second, the firm entered a business succession plan with The Colony Group, a division of the publicly traded Focus Group, in the event of the incapacity of one of the partners.

In keeping with the firm’s socially responsible investing mission, AHIA has consistently given back to the local community since its establishment. Both Hill and Figurelli have provided personal and financial contributions in support of the good work of more than a dozen non-profit organizations. In 2018, they established their annual ESG Charity event where they provide donations to local charities serving the community in the area of environmental, social, and governance following their investment research process.  In the past two years, organizations that have been recipients of this event include The Conservancy of Southwest Florida, Catholic Charities, Junior Deputies of Collier County, The Water School at Florida Gulf Coast University; Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida; and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).

As the firm begins its second decade of business, it remains focused on the principles that led to its growth by delivering exceptional client service, detailed investment research, strategic portfolio management, and leveraging industry leading technology.
